Video | Music To My Feet – Nike's Music Shoe
Nike has been producing some amazing commercials, unfortunately most of them are for overseas markets. At least we got the internet. I came across this video for Nike’s Free Run shoe. It features the Japanese break-beat group HIFANA. Instead of typical gear to make their music, they rigged the sneakers to produced the music in the video.
The way this crazy project was executed was rather ingenious, not to mention tedious– for both the engineers and HIFANA. First, hardware including three sensors were attached to the soles of the shoes, and these sensors will send serial codes to the computer when bent or inclined at certain angles. These serial codes will then be transformed into music output.
