Def Harmonic’s Lunaversol9 Takes Over August’s Unlooped

A Novel Slur is a  five song EP focusing on the recovery side of a broken heart

This month’s Unlooped is special. Hometown hero Lunaversol9 from Def Harmonic and Buffalo takes the night over. We are starting the night early at 9pm with a special listening party for Lunversol9′s solo EP “A Novel Slur”, which will be released on August 31st on Milwaukee’s Listening Party Records home of Decibully and Minneapolis Look Book.

“Written in 2006 and recorded during numerous attic sessions over a number of years with producer and drummer Ted Brusubardis (Strong Computer, Leo Minor, Buffalo), A Novel Slur’s five songs focus on the recovery side of a broken heart (although“Hellbent”, a track produced by JTodd, is about smoking). Written while still active in her other group with JTodd, Def Harmonic (1999-present), the songs were performed for a few years around Milwaukee, then set aside as Luna and Ted moved through to other projects.” Take an exclusive listen of one of Lunaversol9′s tracks from “A Novel Slur”

Lunaversol9 – “Now I Get (Get It All)”

Following the listening party, Lunaversol9 will join electronic artist Erik Schoster aka He Can Jog for a live collaboration set. Erik also runs a boutique DIY netlabel called Luv Sound with a few friends and recently launched a cassette and vinyl only sublabel called Wolf Interval. Along with original music, the set will feature a visual element.

Then we conclude the event with an amazing energetic set from Milwaukee’s The Demix, the self-described Dark Knight of electronic expereimentalism.

Plus additional set will come from your hosts BTS.WRKNG (WMSE), TARIK (88Nine) and Adam Carr (88Nine).Unlooped is at bSide, 235 S. 2nd Street, Milwaukee. The event kicks off at 9pm! Don’t Sleep!!!
